Common Name(s): Disodium inosinate, disodium inosinate (imp),purine nucleotide, cellular energy skin active
CAS Number: N/a
DESCRIPTION
What It Does: Supports cellular energy metabolism through purine nucleotide delivery to energy-depleted skin cells, promotes cell proliferation through p2 receptor activation, and provides dna repair support from purine availability during uv-damaged cell recovery.
Why It's Used: Nucleotide topical delivery supports the energy-demanding processes of skin renewal — keratinocyte turnover requires ~50 atp molecules per cell division, and uv-stressed cells require enhanced atp for nucleotide excision repair of cpd lesions.
How It Works: Inosinate (imp) and guanylate (gmp) enter the purine salvage pathway → amp/gtp → atp via adenylate kinase and gtp synthetase. the energy-dense phosphate anhydride bonds of atp support: collagen synthesis atp-consuming reactions; proteasome atp-dependent protein quality control; dna repair atp-requiring nucleotide excision repair enzymes.
