Common Name(s): Ethyl caffeate,ethyl caffeate,cosmetic functional ingredient,established active

CAS Number: N/a

DESCRIPTION

What It Does: Provides emollient skin conditioning with spreading value determined by the acid-alcohol ester molecular architecture.

Why It's Used: Ethyl caffeate is selected for its catechol-vinyl pharmacophore — the ortho-dihydroxy catechol of caffeic acid provides dual radical donation from both phenolic oh groups while the vinyl conjugation extends the chromophore for uv-a absorption, delivering antioxidant, tyrosinase-inhibiting, and photo-protective activity.

How It Works: Ester polarity controls spreading: branched short-chain fast dry; medium moderate; long chain occlusive. c=o provides polar adhesion.
