Common Name(s): Glyceryl abietate,glyceryl abietate,glyceryl ester,natural glycerol-derived emollient

CAS Number: N/a

DESCRIPTION

What It Does: Provides abietic acid resin fatty acid emolliency from the glycerol ester with one glycerol position esterified providing hlb ~3–4 for o/w emulsification, plus gentle glycerol humectancy from the backbone after sc esterase hydrolysis.

Why It's Used: Glyceryl abietate is selected for abietic acid resin glyceryl ester emolliency — the glycerol carrier provides natural origin, biodegradability, and mild glycerol humectancy co-delivery alongside rosin-derived resin ester for tacky adhesive film-forming emolliency from the abietic acid resin fatty acid chain.

How It Works: Glyceryl monoester: glycerol backbone → mild humectancy + natural origin; abietic acid resin chain → rosin-derived resin ester for tacky adhesive film-forming emolliency; sc esterase hydrolysis → free glycerol + fatty acid metabolites.
