Common Name(s): Glyceryl diisopalmitate,glyceryl diisopalmitate,glyceryl ester,natural glycerol-derived emollient
CAS Number: N/a
DESCRIPTION
What It Does: Provides c16 palmitic fatty acid emolliency from the glycerol ester with two of three glycerol positions esterified providing hlb ~3โ5, plus gentle glycerol humectancy from the backbone after sc esterase hydrolysis.
Why It's Used: Glyceryl diisopalmitate is selected for c16 palmitic glyceryl ester emolliency โ the glycerol carrier provides natural origin, biodegradability, and mild glycerol humectancy co-delivery alongside sc-ceramide-matching biomimetic emolliency and self-emulsifying wax from the c16 palmitic fatty acid chain.
How It Works: Glyceryl diester: glycerol backbone โ mild humectancy + natural origin; c16 palmitic chain โ sc-ceramide-matching biomimetic emolliency and self-emulsifying wax; sc esterase hydrolysis โ free glycerol + fatty acid metabolites.
