DESCRIPTION

What It Does: Provides cb1-mediated anti-inflammatory and calming activity from the endogenous cannabinoid lipid's receptor partial agonism — reducing neurogenic inflammation and skin hypersensitivity through the endocannabinoid pathway.

Why It's Used: Oleamide is the only cosmetically applicable endogenous cb1 agonist — its natural production in human csf during sleep provides physiological rationale for its anti-inflammatory calming action in skin's same cb1 receptor-expressing nerve endings.

How It Works: Oleamide partial agonism at cb1 receptors on skin sensory neurons → gi inhibition of adenylate cyclase → reduced camp → decreased substance p and cgrp release → reduced neurogenic vasodilation and mast cell histamine release. gaba-a potentiation → ipsp → reduced sensory neuron excitability. the combined mechanism provides non-sedating topical calming.
