Common Name(s): Ozonized sunflower seed oil, ozonized sunflower seed oil, ozonized sunflower seed oil,ozone-activated antimicrobial healing oil

CAS Number: N/a

DESCRIPTION

What It Does: Provides antimicrobial protection from controlled peroxide radical release destroying bacterial and fungal membranes, accelerates wound healing through ozonide-mediated tissue oxygen delivery and growth factor stimulation, and conditions skin from the remaining oil phase.

Why It's Used: Ozonized oils combine the emollient properties of the base oil with controlled antimicrobial and healing activity from the ozonide peroxide groups โ€” providing a single ingredient delivering both conditioning and therapeutic activity.

How It Works: Ozonization: oโ‚ƒ addition across c=c double bonds โ†’ molozonide (1,2,3-trioxolane) โ†’ carbonyl oxide + carbonyl โ†’ recombination โ†’ ozonide (1,2,4-trioxolane). ozonide stability: stable for months at -20ยฐc, hours at 37ยฐc. at skin temperature โ†’ controlled peroxide decomposition โ†’ ros โ†’ antimicrobial membrane disruption; simultaneously triggers wound healing pathways via nrf2 pathway ho-1 induction.
