Common Name(s): Phytoglobin,phytoglobin,plant haemoglobin,oxygen storage anti-aging plant active
CAS Number: N/a
DESCRIPTION
What It Does: Provides localised oxygen delivery from the plant haemoglobin's oโ binding and release at physiological poโ โ supporting skin cell aerobic metabolism for collagen synthesis and cellular energy in the relatively hypoxic sc environment.
Why It's Used: Phytoglobin provides oxygen delivery from a plant source โ functionally equivalent to mammalian haemoglobin for oโ storage and release, enabling oxygenation of hypoxic sc/upper dermis from a vegan botanical origin.
How It Works: Phytoglobin (non-symbiotic class 1 and 2 plant haemoglobins): the hexacoordinate haem iron provides an oโ affinity similar to myoglobin (p50 ~0.05 torr). at the relatively hypoxic sc/dermal interface (poโ 10-20 mmhg), phytoglobin releases oโ following the dissociation curve โ aerobic metabolism support.
