What It Does: Provides non-competitive tyrosinase inhibition for skin brightening โ uniquely additive with competitive tyrosinase inhibitors (kojic acid, arbutin, vitamin c) allowing combination formulas to achieve greater brightening than any single inhibitor alone.
Why It's Used: Aloesin's non-competitive mechanism fills the inhibition gap that competitive inhibitors cannot โ by binding outside the active site, aloesin inhibits enzyme activity even when substrate occupies the active site, providing brightening under conditions where competitive inhibitors fail.
